Weekend Links

A book story by Nina Katchadourian
It's the weekend! (And the end is in sight for my thesis!) Spring has arrived in Tucson, and with it comes the reminder that Summer is not far behind. So begins the short window of perfect Arizona weather, after the chill has left the air but before the sun begins to scorch us. To celebrate, I've compiled this collection of links for you from around the web. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm out to get some sunshine.

Happy Friday!

Tonari no Totaro by Victor Vercesi

It's finally the weekend! We're still unpacking, so that will probably take up the majority of our weekend. Plus, for the first day in a while, we get to sleep in tomorrow! Sleeping, eating, unpacking, cleaning, perhaps watching the Super Bowl- that will be our weekend. Just what we need after weeks of craziness. But before I go take a nap (or work on homework...), here are some links for you:

It's finally the weekend! (Which means that my first week of school is done and I survived!) This weekend is moving weekend for us. I'm so excited to be in the new apartment and to finally start unpacking. It will be so nice to no longer be living out of boxes. But before I dive into moving, I've collected a few links for you:

It's finally the weekend! I have one term paper written, but another paper still need to be finished, along with a fellowship application to submit and a Russian final to study for (eeps!). So I know what I will be doing this weekend. However, I hope that you have more fun plans for your first December weekend. Perhaps some Christmas shopping or decorating? It's finally that festive season yet again...

DIY Advent Calendar, photo by Aubrey Trinnaman for Oh Happy Day
I hope you are having a wonderful holiday! I have been loving spending so much time with all the family in the last couple days. We've stuffed ourselves, gone hiking, played some pickup games, and more. It's been quite lovely. But before tonight's big rivalry football game (UA v. ASU), I've collected a few links for you...

Happy Friday!

It's finally the weekend! The weather promises to be quite lovely this weekend, but I will unfortunately be stuck indoors for most of the next few days buckling down on my thesis. Can you believe that Thanksgiving is in a week? Time has been flying so fast.

Amy Adams for Band of Outsiders

It's the weekend and I'm almost done writing the first part of my thesis! It's been quite a productive week, and I am quite pleased. It's so nice to finally have tangible progress. I hope you have wonderful weekend plans. I will probably be hunkering down for some more work and studying (Russian oral exam next week-- Eeps!), but I hope to get out an enjoy the beautiful weather for at least a little bit. It should be a lovely weekend.

Roasted Beet, Pear, and Walnut Salad, by Jean Donofrio via In Season

It's finally the weekend- and I actually have part of my thesis written! It's a tiny, tiny piece, but it's still a bit, which feels very monumental. It's so nice to finally feel like I'm finally making concrete progress. I will be putting the books away for at least part of the weekend as I head up to Phoenix for some pre-wedding festivities (my mother's wonderful friends are throwing a bridal shower for me- how nice!). I hope you have some fun weekend plans. Per usual, I've gathered up a few links for you before I go:

This week has been absolute madness, the weekend may be possibly more insane, and I am just hoping to survive till Monday. Come Tuesday everything should be handed in (hopefully), so I'm giving you advanced warning in case you don't hear from me till then. But never fear, I planned ahead and rounded up some links for you:

Autumn Glory by bomobob

It's the weekend and fall is finally here! Of course, living in Tucson means that it's still quite toasty outside, but cooler weather should be coming soon (hopefully). I can't say I have terribly exciting weekend plans, but I am looking forward to perusing our local antique fair on Saturday. Of course, I've gathered a collection of my favorite finds from this week to share before I go:

What's happening in Libya and Egypt

Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens, photo by Ben Curtis, Associated Press

As an International Studies major, I like to keep up on my news, and I've been following the events unfolding in Libya and Egypt. I thought I would share some of the better articles I have found describing the events of the last 24 hours and their significance, along with the significant reactions to these events from key U.S. political figures.

It's the weekend! I am highly looking forward to a chance to relax a bit this weekend. Our Second Mile community group is headed up to Oro Valley for a collective "staycation" to hang out, have fun, and get away from work for a little bit (though I will unfortunately be taking a bit with me). It's coming at just the right time for me. But before I go, I have some links for you:

Amazing Industrial Kitchen via Desire to Inspire
I survived the GRE! And I scored pretty well on it, if I do say so myself. Most of you at this point are probably thinking, no surprise there- it's the GRE, not rocket science. But I was an itsy-bit worried about the math- it's been a looong time since I've done this kind of stuff and I'm a bit rusty.
Anyways, I'm headed up to Phoenix for the weekend because it's my little sister's last weekend at home. She's heading off to college in California on Monday. (So grown up! How did this happen?!) I hope you have fun weekend plans (and that you're not too snarled up in the ugly construction+freshman move-in traffic mess that's made it impossible to drive around Tucson).
Oh, and of course I found some links for you:
